SYSTEM FOR HOT TUBS AND SPAS
START UP PROGRAM PRETREATMENT. DAY ONE. As per instructions on the container, a good quality stain and scale inhibitor should be added to the spa or tub and let to circulate with the jets on high for 5 minutes. This will aid in the removal of hard mineral contaminants and prolong the life of the equipment. After the spa has been circulated for 5 minutes, return the jets to normal speed and turn on the heater. Add one ounce of "clarifier" and let circulate. Next, add 250 ml ( one cup ) of liquid bleach. This will get rid of any organic contaminants. ( The JacPac system will burn off the chlorine within 6 to 8 hours allowing you to bathe in chemical free water. DAY TWO. Check the PH If the PH is low, add baking soda to bring it up to within the range of 7.2 to 7.6. If the PH is high, add PH down to bring it within the same range. Let your spa circulate on normal cycle. Your spa or hot tub is now ready to enjoy.. WEEKLY. Add one ounce of clarifier. Add one cup of chlorine. This amount may vary depending on the bather load,( If the bather load is heavy, you might want to add a lesser amount more frequently, but don't worry, the JAC PAC system will burn it off. YEARLY. Have a QUALIFIED SPA TECHNICIAN check your system to insure that the Germicidal JAC PAC lamp is operating in the proper bacteria killing range. It should be renewed every 12 to 16 months. SOME GOOD TIPS: Clean your filter at least once a month with a good filter cleaner, a pink washing compound available from your dealer or any wine making or "U-BREW" store. Make sure that children under the age of 6 go to the bathroom prior to using the spa as the temperature of the water will cause them to urinate without their knowing it. Never allow children under the age of 12 to bathe alone or without the close supervision of a responsible adult. Always add the bleach to your spa at least 6 to 8 hours prior to the use of your spa or in the evening after you have finished using it. Check to see if your system is working properly by testing for chlorine with an OTO test kit.If the presence of chlorine is detected 8 hours after you have added it to your spa, then that means your JAC PAC system is NOT WORKING.
